GTSM Strain Meter in Japan |
|
In 2008, GTSM Technologies deployed 4 strain meters into Japan, south of Tokyo. The instruments were deployed close to the major cities of Matsusaka, Tokushima, Kochi and Matsuyama.
The Japanese installations were performed using a semi automated cable deployment system. The system was able to grip the cable using opposable tracks with rubber grippers, the tracks then rotated, feeding the cable out at a controllable rate. The deployment system also included a highly accurate measurement system to monitor installation depth.
